Welcome to Karma Ju-Jitsu
Hi my name is Mike Widdall and welcome to the Karma Ju-Jitsu club web site.
We are the longest continuously run ju-jitsu club in the Royton area. Our primary dojo is located in the hall of the United Reformed Church on Hebron St in Heyside. Originally the club was opened over 20 years ago by Sensei Phil Costin. Having both trained and obtained black belt status under Phil, my wife and I took over the club in 1997 and have been running it ever since. We are a family run club with both my son and daughter still helping and training at the club. In 2007, due to popular demand, we opened a new club which is located at the Mission Hall, on Church St in Failsworth.
We know how expensive martial art clubs can be, which is why we try to keep costs down whilst maintaining a very high standard. You will be glad to hear that unlike other clubs we do not have a membership fee or any other hidden costs. Juniors start at 5yrs old; insurance for juniors is £16 per year and the training fees are £2.80 a session. Seniors start at 15/16yrs, insurance is £20 and training fees are £3.30 a session. The only other expense to start with is the uniform (Gi's), but I always recommend that you don't buy one until you (or your young ones) have trained for a few weeks. This allows you to make sure that you or your children are enjoying the experience. Gradings occur 3 times a year and grading fees will be displayed at the club. Besides the grading fee, the only other costs are for belts and badges.
